Rod Van Der Aa - Executive Vice President of Finance

Rod Van Der Aa serves as Executive Vice President of Finance at Bible League International, responsible for developing and implementing the corporate finance strategy to support the ministry’s global operational plan. His responsibilities include: budget planning to align with the organization’s strategic plan, financial statement preparation, forecasting, cash management, foreign currency transactions, annual audit, and ensuring compliance with financial accounting standards and government regulations.

Van Der Aa began his work at Bible League International in 2002 as a part-time volunteer in the finance department. Through his faithful service, he assisted the team with a variety of tasks, helping them accomplish a wide array of strategic projects. In 2004, he joined the organization as the Financial Specialist. During this time, he gained greater responsibilities, including managing the financial software, compliance filings, corporate insurance, financial report writing, and was also a member of the finance leadership team.

In his time with Bible League International, Van Der Aa also assisted with field audits and enjoyed traveling to Mexico to see Church Planter Training in action. Van Der Aa’s commitment to financial accountability and integrity make him a natural fit for his current position, ensuring that donor gifts are being used wisely to transform lives worldwide through God’s Word.

“We have been entrusted with the generous contributions of our donors and partners to carry out this ministry.” He continues, “We have a great responsibility to make sure that all the funds we receive are properly accounted for and used in the most efficient way. Integrity in all that we do is very important, and we will manage Bible League International’s finances in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.”

Van Der Aa received his Master of Science in Finance from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Prior to beginning his volunteer and full-time work with Bible League International, he served as Vice President and Treasurer for the transportation company owned by his family. Van Der Aa lives in Lansing, Illinois with his wife and two children.
